There is a significant number of Americans who get struck with this condition known as Fibromyalgia or FMS. Work closely with your doctor in trying to find a treatment program that will work for you. With FMS, the treatment program is usually personalized, which means that what may work for one, may nor work for another.

You can go out and find alternative methods like acupuncture, relaxation and breathing exercises, hot or cold therapy, massage, and exercise. Some women who suffer from FMS are known to have started aerobics, and benefited from the exercise.

There is also a group called the National Fibromyalgia Association which brings people with FMS together. This bonding efforts is a lot of help in terms of support, advice, and friendship.

Your diet and nutrition also play a major role in your treatment, so ask you doctor for a list of food to avoid, as well as food to eat daily. While physical activities are encouraged, it should be tempered with caution and restraint. You cannot do too much or you risk over fatigue and a pain problem the next day.

The most important aspect of learning to deal with fibromyalgia is attitude and outlook. It is unfortunate that you have this condition, but it is not life-threatening. You can still enjoy working, playing, and living.
